HIRING THE ART GALLERY

Hire of The Compton Gallery is essentially ‘dry hire’, meaning we provide you with the space and infrastructure to mount your own show. We are a flexible gallery, so we are also happy to discuss working collaboratively if we both felt this would benefit the exhibition.  

We are always happy to support our artists, whether that is helping hang, recommending or organising caterers or providing car park attendants. We welcome the chance to discuss all your requirements and between us come up with a memorable and inspiring exhibition.   

THE GALLERY HIRE IN DETAIL

Gallery Space – the main gallery is 75sqm and will hold up to 120 people standing.  
Hanging – we give you a free half day to hang your work and also allow you to dismantle the exhibition up to 8pm on the final day. 
Courtyard – this is adjoined to The Compton Gallery and offers additional space set in beautiful countryside. It is ideal for guests to mingle, or to display larger sculptures. 
Lighting – we have many overhead and individual spotlights which can be re-positioned.
Kitchen - a fully fitted kitchen is available to prepare and store food and drink. We also have a professional coffee machine. 
Parking - we have space for up to 50 cars at any one time in clearly marked areas. 
Alcohol Licence – You can serve alcohol under a temporary licence, you will need to give us 6 weeks to apply for this. If you are giving alcohol away free this will not be required. 
Superspeed WIFI is available in the gallery Road Signage- we have a number of signs that can be customised and placed within the surrounding area. 
Cloakroom – we have two WCs within the gallery area. Please note: we do not have a disabled WC but do have disabled access into the barn.
Marketing – we are happy to advertise your exhibition on The Compton Gallery Website, Facebook page and Instagram. All joint marketing must be run past The Compton team. 
Furniture – We have three 6ft oak trestle tables and benches, and two large sofas, there is also integrated seating along one side of the gallery. 
Insurance – we hold public Liability insurance, have fire alarms and security on the building. You will need 
Storage - there is a large area over
